For me? Right now? Missy, Supa Dupa Fly.

The beats are cray cray, and everyone on the album knows it. All the guest stars (Busta, K.I.M., Da Brat...) are aware Timbaland is the revolutionary he is, but no one on Supa Dupa Fly is more confident in the album's game-changing impact than Tim and Missy.

There are so many tracks where Missy says nothing but "These beats are insane, we are about to fuck up this whole R&B/hiphop landscape, and you want to be us." I love it. Her song composition is def less-is-more, but she does a great job just putting out the vibe. The only person to do it as good since is M.I.A.

And how about how awesome she is for not asking for, but announcing she will be taking some dick on "Sock it 2 Me." I think that song is sexy, but it never gets play as a sex song. Just like her bragging about her musical steelo, she's on her sex game with some "You might not know about me, but I came to handle some business and that's a fact."

Of course the slowed-down drumnbass beats kill, and of course crickets and birds chirping are rad, and of course all the negative space actually sounds like atmosphere (you can hear winds blowing, storms brewing)...but nobody ever talks about how much "bedroom beatboxing" went into early Tim/Missy tracks. Tim does a decent job, and layers his mouth-beats nicely, but Missy gets in quite a few wordless-vocals rhythmic ideas and melodic grunts that express her style way better than words or machines ever could. For as tech-y as the production sounds, there're a lot of audio flair pieces that just came from two people with great compositional sense doing a lot with a little and being on the same stoned wavelength.

Which brings me to my final point: Supa Dupa Fly is possibly the best stoner album of all time. "The Rain," "Pass da Blunt," "Izzy Izzy Ahh," are all insane. Get in a car, turn it up, drive around Seattle, enjoy.Matson on Music

Thank Timbo. Missy rides dope beats with mediocre lyrics. This is a good album tho.

The fact that she was honored by VH1 before ____ , ____ and especially ____ still irritates the bejesus out of me.dj100proof.com - MEMBERS ONLY - Twitter

my pops laced me with the game from birth.

he put the speakers to my moms stomach and it's been history ever since. he bumps all this shit on the regular. JUST ICE, MANTRONIX, T LA ROCK,etc. all the Sleeping Bag records shit.

he also taught me to do beats since he was doing the same when he was 20 etc. back in 87/88.
